About Me
I am a designer, educator and artist with dual masters degrees in the Learning Sciences and Interactive Media Arts and over a decade of experience collaborating with subject matter teachers to co-design and co-teach hands-on projects that integrate STEAM and CS into the core curriculum.
In my work, I combine a systems approach to learning and a strong working knowledge of 3D design, programming, digital fabrication and web technologies to iteratively design experiences, environments and tools that hopefully help ignite that initial spark of interest in a topic or support the sustained and sometimes challenging habitual work required for skill-building and deep mastery.
Fundamentally, I think that lifelong learning, creative problem solving and critical thought are essential for our democracy and learning experiences should be built around collaborative communities, serious play, inquiry, perspective-taking and making things.
A grab bag of my personal interests might include climbing, yoga, nature photography, making visual art using computation, biomimicry and conservation, and learning to play the guitar and piano.
